Saturday April 30th, Fifth leg and finish, Pau -> Biarritz
Biarritz hosts the finish of the rallye for the seventh time : 1960, 1969, 1981, 1995, 1997, 2000, 2002.

Early in the morning, at 8:40 am, circuit of Pau Arnos
This circuit is all in ample curves, where spectators can have a very good overlooking view
Bernd Hahne, on his Alfa Roméo GT 1600 wins the first competition run in VHC, on a circuit that reminds him of the Nürburgring. The fight for second place goes on for some time between Jürgen Zehra on the Maserati A6GCS 1955 and Steve Read on his Ferrari LM 250. Steven Read finishes second.

Second Competition race ( VHC)
The very powerful Cobra Roadster driven by Ludovic Caron (see our interview of Monday) leads the race from the beginning to the end. Because of a broken rear axle in Charade, the AC Cobra will not finish in the top 10. The AC Cobra of Frank Sytner doe snot take par tin the race in Pau, because of problems in Nogaro.

Third competition Race, Group G/H/I
A very nice run, the Porsche 911 RSR 1975 of Connor/Sulivan is first on the grid, but cannot resist to the Porsche 910 1967 of Luco/Antonini (team #209), the Porsche 906 of Mathai/Jodnexis finishes second.

Road stage Bois du Bager
Only the regularity groups completed this stage. Radio broadcasting reliablity problems caused this stage to be cancelled for the competition groups, a wise safety decision made by the organization team.
